Friendly And Easy-going Dogs That Would Be Great For You To Adopt

If you’re looking to add a dog to your family it’s a good idea to do a little research. There are so many different dog breeds out there, so you will definitely be able to find one that suits your lifestyle. Every dog is different, but if you are looking to get a thorough-bred dog, understanding their specific traits of different breeds will make the selection process much easier.  Here are some friendly, easy-going dogs that you should adopt.

Bichon Frise

These dogs are cute little white poofs of cloud. They are extremely intelligent - almost as intelligent as they are adorable. These dogs excel when it comes to obedience training and they are typically gentle and happy dogs. They make wonderful companions but do tend to prefer older people to younger children.

Bulldog

The Bulldog is a slobbery breed that is extremely gentle and loving, despite its strong and intimidating build. They are loyal and tend to get very excited when they see their person, often forgetting their strength. They are a good dog for the whole family.

Bernedoodle

Just by looking at the name, you can tell that this is a cross-breed. Due to this, you are not guaranteed one consistent look. Variation occurs due to the parents. If the Poodle parent was a smaller Poodle, say a miniature or toy Poodle, you might end up with a Mini-Bernedoodle, which stays fairly small, making them excellent for apartment living. However, if you consider the Bernedoodle know that it is quite an active dog and is quite outgoing and social. They love to meet and greet everyone and tend to stay puppylike for a few years before they settle down. They are great for families with children of all ages.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

This is an excellent family dog for homes that have small children due to their gentle nature. They are easy to train and with their size, they make a good inside dog. They also don’t require too much exercise and don’t like rough play.

Collie

Collies are some of the smartest dogs. They are easy to train and are well-behaved around everyone, including little kids. They prefer calm environments and are exceptionally loyal dogs.

English Toy Spaniel

If you like dogs with long coats, droopy ears, and short snouts, this is the right one for you. This breed is easy-going and very happy. They make great inside dogs, especially if you live in an apartment. They are a little skittish around strangers, but they are excellent with children as they are calm and gentle.

French Bulldog

The French Bulldog is often described as a smaller version of a Bulldog, with bigger ears. Just like Bulldogs, these are happy and sweet dogs who like to socialize with people and other dogs. Due to their size, they don’t require too much exercise, which makes it easy to have them as inside dogs and apartment pets.

Golden Retriever

The family favorite – these dogs have a sweet and easy-going nature and love to please their humans, which makes them good to train. They love everyone and are very easygoing.

Great Dane

The gentle giants of the dog world, Great Danes are friendly and devoted to their humans. They tend to be a bit slow to pick up on things, but if you are patient, they will learn as they have a willingness to please. These dogs are also good around kids.

Greyhound

Often referred to as miniature Great Dane, Greyhounds are quiet easy-going dogs who make wonderful family pets. They are shy around strangers but are a bundle of personality when they come out of their shells. They do fine living in smaller environments, like an apartment, but they do need an open space to run. So be sure that there is a park or something like that nearby.

Irish Setter

These dogs are well-known for their rich mahogany-colored fur, which is very soft. They are outgoing dogs who stay puppy-like for a bit longer than other dogs, but that doesn’t mean that they are misbehaved. They are very loyal to their humans and make fantastic family pets.

There are so many different types of dogs out there, one doesn’t just have to stick to this list. Ask your friends and family their opinion about different breeds and keep in mind that this is a list of general behavior. Dogs have their own unique personalities, just like people, so their personalities will vary. Also, try your best to adopt a dog from a rescue, or shelter, as they are often filled with thorough-bred puppies that people have given up because they didn’t know what they were getting themselves into.
